Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has urged Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to formulate laws that will help in streamlining development in the county.

Mutua said that MCAs are the lawmakers at the county level and must ensure that the laws they make transform the lives of the people.

The Machakos boss said that devolution will be successful if lawmakers in the county assemblies make appropriate laws and policies.

Speaking to journalists in his Machakos office on Friday, Mutua said that he is relying on MCAs to advance the county development agenda at the grass root level through good laws.

Mutua also asked the MCAs to support the county development agenda.

"MCAs interact with the people on a daily basis and it will be of help if they help the county government to provide services," said Mutua.

Governor Mutua said that the county has channeled resources to sub-counties and wards and MCAs must work with ward administrators and ensure that the resources are used wisely.

He said that development of Machakos requires the support of every leader. Mutua said that his government is inclusive and will continue to seek the views of every leader in relation to development.

He urged leaders to put their differences aside and focus on working for the Machakos people.
