Maendeleo ya Wanawake leader has threatened to mobilize Mavoko women to demonstrate against a rape suspect she said is notorious in luring and defiling children within Athi River town.

Angeline Maloza, the organization's Mavoko Sub County chairperson said the suspect who had been arrested, arraigned in a Mavoko court and released on bond was still engaging in the criminal act.

"I will unite the women from entire Mavoko sub-county to conduct mass protest against a culprit who keeps giving little children petty money and defiling them in pubs in Athi River and Kitengela towns," said Maloza.

Malozo who addressed press in Athi River town during an Uwezo fund function on Monday said the suspect was taking advantage of his wealth which she argued had made him get out of jail when he was arrested for similar offense.

"This is a cartel of business men, they keep defiling children after luring them with cheap goodies and petty cash because they are sure of buying their ways out police cells whenever arrested," said Maloza.

According to Maloza, the culprit together with his friends will continue luring minors from poor back grounds with money if women do not take stern actions to name and shame them.

She called on the speedy intervention of the state through Athi River, deputy county commissioner, Kodeck Makori stating she had lost confidence in the region's police officers.

Kodeck urged the women to be patient as he investigates the matter which he termed as serious and criminal stating that he would ensure justice takes its course.
