A man was on Wednesday charged before Nakuru court for stealing Kenya power and lighting company's electricity poles.
Jona Oyugi was accused of allegedly stealing six electricity poles in Kiti Estate within Nakuru county on June 6.
On second account of the same charge, he was accused after he was alleged to have been using electricity at his home without a permitted and authority connection from the KPLC offices.
Oyugi's lawyer, Ochanga Ajigo urged the court to give his client a reasonable bond terms because he has a family that depends on him.
"My client is entitled to bond terms and i therefore urge the court to give him a reasonable bond that he can raise, he has a young family that depends on him," he said
Appearing before Senior Principle Magistrate Liz Gicheha, Oyugi pleaded not guilty and was released on a surety bond of Sh50,000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh20,000.
The case will be mentioned on August 20 and heard on September 24.
