A man was on Monday arraigned before Nakuru court for allegedly beating his wife and causing her bodily harm.
John Maina is accused of beating Wanjiru Muchiri on August 8 in Mungito Village in Njoro sub-county after they quarreled over dirty clothes.
According to police, Maina woke up in the morning at 5am. As he prepared to go to work, he asked her why his clothes had not been washed. She told her that she was feeling unwell.
Maina started to beat her by slapping and punching her then pushed her out of the house along with their four children.
Villagers came to rescue her and took her to Njoro hospital for treatment after he fled using his motor cycle.
The P3 form was shown before court as an exhibit. Maina was arrested on Friday last week and taken to Njoro police station.
Appearing before Senior Principle Magistrate, Liz Gicheha, they pleaded not guilty and was released on abond of Sh20,000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh10,000.
The case will be heard on September 28.
