A man was found dead on Friday in his Kikuyu Suna Estate after committing suicide following a domestic violence with his wife. The man in his 40s was found hanging on a rope at noon after relatives got into his house when they realised he hadn't gotten out of the house that day which was not his ideal nature. According to neighbours the father of 4 had continuous misunderstandings with his wife for quite some time, a situation that has always seen them fight.
However this time round, the wife is said to have parked her belongings and gone away together with their children. The deceased sister, Faith Wangui said that all hadn't been well with the couple but she didn’t expect suicide. She revealed that she had visited the couple on several occasions to help settle their differences but their domestic issues were too constant.
"We have been sharing a lot with my brother about his family but this act was a total surprise to everyone," said the sister. Wangui who had read the deceased suicide note indicated that she should take the children from the wife and raise them as her very own. The suicide letter indicated that the deceased had taken away his life after the wife walked out of the house with her belongings and their children vowing never to come and even getting married elsewhere. "I request God to forgive me for this act and rest my soul in peace. I want my body to be cremated and not buried," Wangui read the note.
Speaking at the scene of crime, the Kikuyu OCS, Senior Inspector Joshua Arende said that the deceased had committed suicide over domestic issues allegations. He mentioned that the wife had left the house last evening after a domestic fight and left together with their children. "I want to warn resident’s against this act in solving issues. Look for better ways to solve domestic issues and not committing suicide," said the OCS.
The body was taken to Kikuyu Hospital Mortuary as police launch investigations regarding the matter.
