A man who was stabbed in the stomach by an assistant chief in Kiobonyi in Metembe Kisii County lost his life while undergoing treatment at the Kisii Level Six Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The late William Getange who was 26-years-old was allegedly stabbed with a Somali sword on Saturday by Wilson Omwoyo when they met at the house a widow they both have been seeing without knowing and immediately started fighting.
Confirming the incident, Kisii County police Commander Simon Kiragu said that the two men had an affair with the woman without knowing and that the suspect has already been arrested waiting to be arraigned in court after investigations are done.
“It seems that the these two men have been seeing the woman and when they met at the woman’s place they started fighting, that is when the assistant chief stabbed the late William Getange with Somali sword. The accused is in our custody and when investigations are done he shall be taken to court and charged with murder,” said Kiragu.
He also said that the woman at the center of all that was also taken and she wrote a statement with the police over the same matter.
