A man was on Friday charged at a Thika court with being in possession of ammunition without having a firearm certificate.
Julius Karagu was arraigned before the Resident Magistrate Ngare Gesora charged with being in possession of two rounds of nine-millimeter caliber ammunition.
The court heard that on September 10, 2015, at Ruiru town the public tipped off police officers of a robbery incidence and upon arrival at the scene, the officers arrested the accused as a suspect.
The prosecution told the court that police searched the accused's premises and allegedly found two bullets which were forwarded for testing where its was proved by a firearms examiner that they were indeed live bullets.
He denied the charge and was released on a bond of Sh50,000 with one surety of a similar amount.
The hearing was set for October 29.
