Ngewa ward MCA Karungo wa Thang’wa has called on the county government of Kiambu to expedite development projects in the ward.
The MCA claimed that despite the county assembly allocating more than Sh300 million to the construction of Ndumberi-Githunguri road, the construction has not yet kicked off.
Speaking on Sunday at Githunguri Catholic Church, Thang’wa said that Ngewa ward and Kiambu County in general require good roads thus the county government should fulfil its promises.
He said that Deputy President William Ruto promised to commence phase one construction of Kwamaiko to Uplands road thus residents should be calm as the developments are underway.
The law maker further called on residents not to be misled by politicians who have malicious intentions but rather focus on the key aspects of development and not empty promises.
“Kiambu County Roads and Infrastructure CeC Njeri Gatabaki should visit Ngewa ward to explain to the residents why rehabilitation and construction of roads in the ward have halted,” said Thang'wa.
Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu who was in the same meeting pledged to unite Kiambu residents come 2017 in a bid to improve the economic status of the county.
