A member of the Kisii county assembly has accused County executive Committee members of incompetence and inability to implement most projects proposed in the county assembly.
Speaking in his Bombaba-Borabu ward on Thursday, Hon Koina Onyancha urged the governor to reshuffle or sack certain county executive members, who have allegedly derailed development.
He pointed out agricultural, youths and education sectors as the most wanting, besides raising questions about roads docket.
“We have passed several proposals to many sectors in the house and nothing concrete has been done. I am not happy with the education, roads and youth sectors despite the assembly allocating a colossal amount of money to those sectors. This is the right time to take an action,” he said.
According to the vocal MCA, the alleged incompetence of the county executives and senior members of the government will jeopardise re-election chances of Governor Ongwae.
“As CORD members in the Assembly, we have tried to help our governor but much will depend on the performance of CeC members. He has to take a bold move and kick out some of them,” he said.
His statements might elicit yet another debate on governance, putting in mind that at some point in 2014, he raised the same debate that saw the governor reshuffle his cabinet.
