Komothai MCA Mr. Kinuthia Mburuti on Thursday vowed to educate 3 orphans in his ward and has started a campaign to help the orphans in the society.
Speaking at a burial ceremony today where the widowed mother of the 3 girls aged 14,10 and 5 was being bur, the MCA said that it was necessary that the children get good education.
Kinuthia said that he would take the full responsibility of taking care of those children including catering for their academics until the university level.
The MCA further said that they had formed an initiative dubbed 'Okoa Yatima' in an aim to save orphans in the area who would otherwise end up not getting education because of lack of support.
"Okoa Yatima is an initiative that we have started and it will involve everyone in the society," said Kinuthia.
He also said that there were guardians and relatives who misuse the orphans by using them to do house chores and using them as their house helps instead of sending them to school. He affirmed that anyone found doing this would be arrested.
