Moi University School of law’s accreditation to offer Bachelor of law degree has been on a temporary suspension from February 20 to September 30, 2015 and with its expiry the schools risks closure.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Monday, the Council for Legal Education chief Executive Officer Wanyonyi Bitonye Kuludu said that the school faces closure. He said the council has written to the management to stop admitting more students with immediate effect until they fully comply with the rules.
"Moi University's Licence for the provision of accreditation expired on September 20, 2015 and that we had given the university time to take corrective measures to ensure that the accreditation. So far nothing has been done and we will be forced to close down the institution until they adhere to the rules and regulation thus putting the future of over 15,000 law students in jeopardy," he said.
