Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has told former justice minister Martha Karua to respect the Presidency by refraining from linking President Uhuru Kenyatta to the case facing Deputy President William Ruto at the ICC.

Addressing Nakuru town residents on Thursday, Mr Ngunjiri warned Ms Karua against linking the President to the International Criminal Cases.

“Karua should respect the Presidency by according the sitting President respect," he said.

Kimani's remarks came days after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria alleged that Ms Karua fixed the DP at the ICC.

He claimed that linking the President to Mr Ruto's case was part of the political games by Ms Karua to taint the President's image.

The legislator urged politicians to stop playing political games with the ICC cases but instead pray for their termination.

“Politicians should stop this game of linking each other to Mr Ruto's case, they should work together to see the case terminated so that the DP can focus on serving Kenyans,” said the legislator.

The Deputy President is facing crimes against humanity charges at The Hague based court alongside journalist Joshua Sang in connection to the 2007/2008 post-election violence.
