Residents of Mwembe in Kisii County have been asked to conserve the environment and desist from careless dumping of litter.
The county’s community health officer Kepha Kingoina, urged the residents to instead use the dustbins provided by the county government to dispose their litter.
He told them that they risked contracting diseases if the vice is not contained.
“If we continue littering the place there are high chances of contracting diseases. We need to take care of ourselves by taking care of the environment,” noted Kingoina on Tuesday.
“The good thing is that our county government has provided dustbins which can be used to dispose litter instead of littering all over the place.”
The officer said those found littering the place will be arrested and prosecuted.
