The Chairman of Nakuru County University Students Association (NACUSA) Joseph Kariuki has criticised the county government led by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua for neglecting students learning in higher institutions.

Through a statement on his Facebook account on Tuesday, Kariuki slammed the Governor’s recent comments not to take interns at the county government offices, while also complaining that most students have not received their bursary allocation.

"The puzzle of the Sh240 million worth of bursary quoted to have been issued by the county government has not yet been unraveled," read part of his statement.

The Nacusa chairman however promised students in higher institutions that he will travel to the county offices and inquire about the issues, to seek answers from the County Cabinet Secretary of Education one Elijah Mathea on the bursary allocation.

"Next week, I will travel to Nakuru specifically to go and inquire for information and appeal on the internship policy. I shall also compel the CS for education one Mr Mathea to produce documents showing how this Sh240 million was disbursed," he further stated.
