Nakuru County CeC for Agriculture Stanley Chepkwony has asked residents to embrace agribusiness to improve their economic livelihoods.
Speaking at the Nakuru ASK Ground on Friday, CeC Chepkwony said agriculture can easily be turned into a money-making and profits venture.
He said that agribusiness has the potential to transform the economic status of the county and Kenyans should start thinking of seriously venturing into it.
The Nakuru County Agriculture Executive said farming should not be done for the sake of doing it, but it should be a venture that earns residents income.
“Nakuru residents should embrace agribusiness if they want to fight poverty and transform their lives economically,” said CeC Chepkwony.
He said that the county is keen on promoting agribusiness among the area residents as a way of helping them improve their lives. He said the county government will sensitise residents on agribusiness and modern farming.
At the same time, Chepkwony urged the county youths to venture into farming and take it as a profession. The executive said youths have an opportunity to 'mint' millions if they venture into farming.
He stated that though many people despise agriculture and farming, the sector has real money.
“Young people should stop the perception they have about farming and take farming as a profession and lucrative venture,” advised CeC Chepkwony.
