Nakuru county government is set to unveil a modern crime detecting machine as it looks forward to finding a lasting solution to the security lapses that have been witnessed in the recent past.

Speaking when he tested the machines at the county headquarters on Thursday, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua eluded confidence that the machines would help curb crime.

"This innovation is workable and can be embraced to help our security teams work efficiently," he said.

According to the governor, the machines will help unearth a majority of undetected crimes where the perpetrators have been going unpunished over the years.

The machine, which is an innovation from an international company SelectaDNA,  is a forensic crime reduction automated system used in linking criminals to crime scenes through a batch of DNA before sending an automated alert to security personnel, facilitating arrests.
