A group of Maendeleo ya Wanawake women in Nakuru have criticised the Nakuru County government for sidelining them in county's employment opportunities. The women led by their chairperson, Edith Wambui have said that the county government has abandoned them and their efforts to seek audience with Nakuru Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua have been fruitless.
"We want to know where our position is as women of this county. We will soon be going to court to challenge the composition of women who have been employed in this county", said Wambui.
"We have tried many times to seek a meeting with our governor but the county secretary can't allow us", she added.
The women blame their woes on the county secretary, Joseph Muthali whom they accuse of high handedness.
"He dictates on who to see or not to see the governor. Instead of him advising the governor on our best interests, he is taking him for women fundraisers in his home county", Wambui said.
They have now threatened to march to State House, Nairobi to take their complaints if the county government does not listen to their plight. They were speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Nakuru Town.
