A day after writing to the Director of Public Prosecution to investigate alleged incitement remarks by former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa, National Cohesion and Integration Commission Chairman (NCIC) chairman Francis Ole Kaparo has come under attack by leaders allied to ODM in Borabu.
Mr Aladwa allegedly made inflammatory remarks at Kibra during Mashujaa Day celebrations, prompting NCIC to write to DPP Keriako Tobiko to launch investigations into the remarks.
But on Friday during a tour at Nyansiongo High school, aspiring Borabu MP Dr Nyandoro Kambi led other politicians to hit at the Ole Kaparo led commission.
They accused him of being biased, citing the uncertainty surrounding Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria's hate speech cases before court.
“NCIC is losing relevance if it approaches issues like that. We have seen Kuria and Waititu (Ferdinand) walk free after making hate speech remarks in public,” Dr Nyandoro said.
Mekenene MCA Mr Alfayo Ngeresa called for equal administration of justice from the commission and warned of a possible uprising if the commission continued being biased in handing issues.
“The commission has lost focus. I wonder what Aladwa said that Kuria has never said. Putting much emphasis on the issue is detrimental for stability in our nation and it’s high time the commission acted with civility and equity,” he said.
They vowed to stand with the embattled Nairobi ODM Chairman and urged Kenyans to shun negative ethnicity.
