In a bid to enhance the adoption of new farming methods in Kiambu, the agriculture office has organised a training session for farmers.

Speaking in her office on Friday, Kiambu agricultural officer Jane Muigai said farming has enhanced over the past few months and new methods will improve production.

The two-day event to be held at Ndumberi grounds will start at 11am and end at 5pm both on Saturday and Sunday.

Muigai said the session will not only benefit farmers with new agricultural skills but also with ideas on how to improve yield.

She said farmers in the region were embracing new techniques such as greenhouses.

The agriculture office organised a similar session early this year.

Muigai urged farmers to make time for the training which will also extend to agricultural officers visiting their farms and helping them too.

She said some farmers feared embracing the new methods because they felt that they will not get help from experts.

She said officers will visit every farmer who will adopt the new methods of farming and help them.

"I urge all farmers in Kiambu Sub-County to attend the session especially those at grassroots. It will really benefit them to be part of this session," said the agricultural officer.
