A legislator has come out strongly against the Kiambu county government blaming it for the high expenditure rates and public funds mishandling.

Thika MP Alice Wambui has said that Kiambu is one of the county’s with poor leadership thus leading to low pace of development and increased spending on less important things.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday in Thika town when she oversaw the ongoing renovation of Mwana Wi Kio Estate roads, Ng’ang’a said that the area has been left out of the county government’s plans as no projects have been initiated there.

She echoed the sentiments by the area MCA Mary Hussein that the county government should develop each area equally as every resident pays levies adding that she will ensure that such leaders who forget the people that chose them don’t get into office again.

“I am going to mobilize the public to protest and reject such leaders come 2017. I know am not pe4fect but I have developed each area equally as they are the same people that I begged for votes from and will return to them again,” Ng’ang’a said.

The Mp noted that Kiambu County is one of the wealthiest counties in Kenya yet there are no changes from the previous leadership seen in a span of 2 years now since the county government assumed office.

She has however accused the governor of misappropriating Shs. 14 million meant for the renovation of Kenyatta Highway in Hospital ward and added that she has enough evidence that the funds were released and that she will head to the EACC for a pursuit.
