Barely a week after Governor William Kabogo shifted his offices to Kiambu Town, Thika town MP Alice Ng’ang’a has met with all the area MCAs and security team.
This is after they conducted ward to ward security meetings on Saturday morning.
The meetings were aimed at getting a solution to insecurity. The MP directed the two sub-county commissioners from Thika West and Thika East, to conduct the meetings in the area before they met.
The meeting at Cravers’ Hotel in Thika Town brought together all the MCAs, MP and the security committee. They however excluded the assistant chiefs as some of them are said to be working with criminals and the MP has suggested proper scrutiny on them.
Speaking during the meeting, Ng’ang’a called on the county legislators to join hands with her and develop Thika as it is the next city according to her Thika growth plan. She mobilised them to abandon their political differences as they are not vying for any seat at the moment.
The MCAs have met with the lawmaker thrice now in an indoor meeting and they have vowed to support her in developing Thika.
The security strategy of Thika is set to change after the meeting.
