Ngenda Ward MCA Kuria Mbugua has lauded the county government of Kiambu for equipping Gatundu Sub-County Hospital thus making it a major referral health facility in the region.
Mbugua who was speaking on Monday during the commissioning of 50 nurses by Governor William Kabogo noted that service delivery had tremendously improved since the county government took over the hospital.
"Gatundu Hospital was just a struggling health provider the other day. It was ill equipped and with inadequate personnel. It is now well equipped and we are grateful to the county government for the transformation it has brought within the two years," said Mbugua.
The MCA further noted that more people from neighbouring counties were being referred to the hospital due to the kind of services it has been offering.
Governor Kabogo on his part said the county government is committed to improving service delivery in the health sector and will continue to improve the quality of hospitals in the county.
Kabogo also warned the doctors at the hospital against referring X-ray patients to private hospitals saying there are enough X-ray machines at the facility.
