The National Lands Commission (NLC) will repossess all grabbed land in Uasin Gishu County and also ensure that land grabbers face the law.
NLC chairman Mohamed Swazuri while speaking in Eldoret town on Friday after assessing lands purported to have been grabbed said that the commission is investigating over 500 farms countrywide that are alleged to have been grabbed.
He said that the commission is in possession of the title deeds of the rightful owners of the parcels of land in question.
"After the investigations, we will unmask the names of people involved in the scam no matter their status in the country. The big fish or small fish all will be roasted.”
According to the NLC boss, the lands in question in the county include State Lodge, county headquarters, Eldoret District Hospital, Eldoret High Court and the Eldoret Lands Office.
"Our investigations will trace the lands that were grabbed from early 1980s and we will bring to book all the culprits,” the chairman.
Swazuri said that the practice will be carried out in all the 47 counties where the commission has received complains of people, government property meant for use by the public for their own use.
He urged Kenyans who have questions regarding any land ownership to inform the commission for thorough investigations to be done.
