Nyamira Township Ward representative Robert Ongwano has cautioned candidates sitting the 2015 national examinations against engaging in examination irregularities.

Addressing a group of teachers in Nyamira Social Hall, Ongwano said the several cases of cheating in examinations in the past have been experienced saying uit was the high time candidates learned how to be independent.

Ongwano called upon all candidates in the county to have confidence and believe in their abilities during the examinations period saying he was expecting better results as compared to previous years.

He called upon teachers to respect the court order and end their strike to leave their unions and the government to dialogue for a solution.

“Our children have been suffering and the strike should end so that classes resume and go on as normal. The teachers will get their dues once they get in agreement with the government," said Ongwano.

In the county both class eight and form four candidates have been going to school despite the teachers strike that has is its fifth week.
