A section of parents of a primary school in Kitutu Masaba want the head teacher transferred by TSC over alleged lack of integrity.
Mr Charles Getuno who heads Nyakongo Primary is accused of defrauding the institution over Sh250,000 together with a section of school committee members who have since resigned.
On Wednesday a section of parents led by Mr Joseph Matoke accused education officers from the region of allegedly shielding the school head from prosecution over the alleged embezzlement.
“We want justice and the head teacher should be transferred from the institution without any condition. He hasn’t accounted for the money that is in question despite other committee members resigning from their positions. We are aware of the protection he is getting but we will not give up,” he said.
They threatened to lock the headmaster from accessing the institution’s premises till the issue is solved and the institution recovers the money in question.
“Let him be assured that he cannot step to the institution till he does what we want. He must return the money that the school gets from its investments such as tea farming. Other committee members are facing prosecution and he should be no exception," he added.
However, Getuno has denied the allegations and accused the parents of "conspiracy to oust him" saying they consider him an 'outsider'.
