Parents from Itumbe location, Sameta sub-county have been warned against imposing education on their nonperforming children, instead identify other talents that could be exploited out of their children and assist them nurture them.

Former Area Education Officer(AEO),Christopher Ondera has warned area parents to shun negative mindsets that their children will only excel in their future lives if they concentrated on education alone.

Speaking at Giasaiga Youth Empowerment Centre during a public Baraza,Ondera tipped local parents onthe importance of identifying other talents in their nonperforming children, instead of condemning them as of no value based on their poor performance in school.

Ondera clarified that, education alone was not the the gauge parents should apply in charging the importance of their children inthe family, instead they should go an extra mile to identify other potentials in their children and ensure they support them in nurturing them.

"It un fair for parents to condemn their nonperforming children in the field of education, yet such children are endowed with other precious and marketable natural talents which can transform them if nurtured well,"stated Ondera.

The educationist observed that, there were alot of talents among nonperforming school children inthe local communities, but due to negative mindsets that it is only education which makes children valuable, such talents are wasted due to lack of  identification and exploitation for the benefit of those children endowed with the same.
