Kisii county residents have been challenged to pay electricity bills in time to avoid disconnection.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday at Kisii Kenya Power offices, South Nyanza regional manager David Mogambi challenged the residents to pay the bills in time to avoid disconnection, saying many Kisii residents delay to pay their bills, prompting disconnection.
According to him, once power has been disconnected, the victim must pay a fine to have power re-connected in their premises.
He added that delay of paying the bills led to introduction of pre-pay electronic system where by people pay before using the electricity.
"If somebody finds it difficult to pay the bills in time, then let every person process for digital electricity where by you pay for the power before use,” he said.
He warned people who connect electricity to their premises illegally of legal action if caught.
