The anti-riot police officers from Thika, Makuyu and Kilimambogo arrived at the area at dawn and kept watch on any attempt to demonstrate but no one dared.

Residents who were leaving for work at the early hours claimed they were caught unawares as they didn’t understand why the police were keeping guard on the area that early whereas the area was peaceful.

One of them said, “When I saw them I thought the President will be passing through here as thus that’s the reason they had over crowded the area to maintain order as they do on other occasions.”

In an exclusive interview, Thika OCPD Erastus Muthamia, said that they noticed the messages circulating in the area that there will be a huge protest through the superhighway and thus they decided to keep watch and avoid any inconvenience on the Thika road.

He further said that the police are probing on the incident and will soon catch up with the culprit who circulated the messages.

The OCPD said that he will release the messages nabbed by the police to the media immediately the investigations are over.
