Kisii Central OCPD Francis Nguli has urged Birongo residents to report anyone they suspect to be having wayward moves so that he can be arrested.
Speaking on Sunday at Birongo during the issuance of the police patrolling vehicle, Mr Nguli told the residents to be wary of their neighbours and know their moves.
“We can only manage the war against insecurity if we work together by reporting any suspect in relation to insecurity. For that matter, I appeal to the area residents to help us arrest those they suspect to be troublesome,” he told residents.
Birongo ward representative Godfrey Nyamache hailed OCPD Nguli for giving a police vehicle to the Birongo police station to facilitate patrolling and other activities aimed at improving security in the area.
Mr Nyamache urged the police to work with the public in ensuring security prevails in the area.
“Am extremely happy to have the vehicle in our police station to help the police in patrolling and ensure security prevails in the area," the ward representative said.
"It will help alleviate criminal activities in the area that has increased over the recent past. Therefore, I ask the police to closely work with the public in identifying the gang that is terrorizing the public. That is the only way we can restore security in the area,” he added.
There has been insecurity at Birongo in Nyaribari Chache sub-county, Kisii County in the recent past, whereby a group of unknown cartel has been terrorizing residents causing panic and fear of security among residents.
