Nyaribari Masaba parliamentary aspirant Nicodemus Koroso has called on youths and any other individuals without Identification Documents to process for the same, so that they can elect leaders they desire during elections.
Speaking at Ibacho mixed secondary school during a prize giving ceremony on Tuesday, Koroso said current leaders should be given an opportunity to serve the electorate to avoid excuses for derailed development.
He however challenged sitting leadership to ensure equity in distribution of resources, saying he will re-vie for the parliamentary seat come 2017.
Koroso, an accountant by profession urged youths from the area to desist from being misused by politicians for their selfish interests.
“I ask the youth and any other person who does not have an ID to process it with voting cards so that they can have a say during elections. Most of our people don’t have the document. However, I support the current leadership because if we keep on undermining them, they will have excuses for failed development,” he said.
Koroso asked the government to have dialogue with educational stakeholders to avert strikes that he noted interfere with education in the country.
“I support the court ruling that teachers’ demands are genuine and they should be paid their dues. TSC and other educational stakeholders should establish an amicable remedy for the strikes that always affect education in our country,” added the politician.
