Juja sub-county administration will prioritise the hiring of reformed alcoholics into the oncoming National Youth Service program in the area.
Area MP, Francis Munyua said that the reformers will be hired for any government task and kept busy to ensure they indulge into alcoholism anymore.
The lawmaker said that the society has proved that it can accommodate the reformers and they are being supported by the people especially in Juja to overcome the challenges of staying away from alcohol.
They should be given an opportunity to rebuild their future, according to Munyua, and they should also be supported in all ways possible.
The MP added that the NYS program was delayed in his area due to lack of a Deputy County Commissioner and thus called for quick finishing of the offices being built in the area to give way for the DCC who he has been asking for since 2013.
"We are going to help them form groups and Saccos so that they can save the money they will be earning. Later we will advice them how they can apply for the public funds to sustain them in their day to day activities.,"Munyua noted.
The leader who spoke from his area on Monday said that he will ensure there is equality in the issuing of jobs to the youths in the area.
