The remains of an administration police officer, who disappeared a week ago from Borabu in Nyamira County, were recovered on Friday.

Addressing the press on Friday in Borabu, area AP commander Joseph Ngatia said Fredrick Omodi’s body was found in River Nyamato near Damside in Mekenene ward.

“The officer disappeared a week ago and the search for him has been going on till today (Friday) when we found his body in River Nyamato. He was naked,” Mr Ngatia said.

The commandant said they had launched investigations to know the cause and the person behind the death of the AP officer.

The Borabu sub-county commandant appealed to anyone with information in connection to the death of Mr Omondi to present it to them to help them in investigation.

“We have started investigations and we will arrest anybody found to be involved in the death of our officer who disappeared for a week long before his body found decomposing in a river,” he said.

The deceased was reported to have disappeared on August 14, 2015 and efforts to look for him took one week to yield fruits. The APs and area residents stepped in the search.
