Ogra Foundation Director Hezron Makobewa has reiterated rising insecurity in Kisumu County and asked police to intervene.

Makobewa said he has fallen a victim of insecurity when he was shot at while entering his gate in Kisumu and feels what the people of Kisumu who continue to be attacked are feeling.

He was reacting to the recent killing of an M-PESA operator in Ahero Trading Centre a week ago.

Makobewa said police should ensure that lives of every Kenyan is protected noting that businesses in Ahero should not collapse due to insecurity.

“We are in a-24-hour economy and when our people are being killed as early as 8pm, that will jeopardise operations of our businesses, I appeal to police to intensify patrols,” said Director Makobewa.

Speaking in Nyando Sub-County on Saturday at a burial of Ogindo Oyamo, a former councillor, Makobewa called for the people to take ID and voters card ahead of 2017 general election.

Politician Owino Ogendo who was also present asked the people of Nyando to register in numbers and vote Raila Odinga as president come 2017.

Ogendo said he is also in the race for Nyando Constituency, but all this will only be possible if the people come out in large numbers and register as voters.

Jared Okello who contested Nyando seat in 2013 also echoed the same sentiments that there is need for Luos to register for the two documents.
