Residents of Tombe, Kitutu Masaba Constituency have appealed to the national government to intervene and push the contractors to speed up construction of the Tombe-Kemera Road.

The residents who spoke to Hivisasa.com on Wednesday at Tombe Market said their businesses were suffering due to poor transport as the road is impassable.

James Asande who spoke on behalf of the residents said that since the construction of the road commenced early last year, they have had no progress and are wondering when the contractors will wind up the project.

“The area has never had any tarmacked road and we hoped that this would be the first one. We therefore urge the national government to help us so that the contractors can speed up the process,” said Asande.

Businesswoman Phanice Bosire said traders incur great losses during the rainy season due to poor roads.
