Residents in Uasin Gishu county have lauded the department of roads in the county for drawing zebra crossings at various places in Eldoret town.
"We can now walk freely across to the other side of the road without the fear of being knocked down by vehicles or motorbikes," said Jane Cheptoo, an Eldoret resident.
Cheptoo said that she has a reason to smile because she will no longer have to escort her children to school due to the fear of them being knocked down by transit trucks.
"It used to take time for one to cross the road because of the speeding vehicles but now with the zebra crossing, even the adults and the disabled can now cross freely," said Simon Sawe, another pleased resident.
