Residents of Kabazi trading centre in Nakuru County want an MPesa agent investigated for allegedly stealing from clients.
They claim that the lady agent has two mobile phones which she uses to steal from clients, especially during evenings.
They claim that after a customer withdraws money, the agent hides the phone or gives to her colleagues and remain with another phone which she will argue that she has not received any message confirming the transaction.
They said when the client complains, the lady starts harassing the client to leave her shop.
Zablon Kariuki, a victim, said he entered the lady's shop last week Friday at about 7:30pm and withdrew Sh300, he says he heard a phone ringing and knew he had already withdrawn the money, but when he asked for the money, the lady told him that she had not received a message confirming the transaction.
She then asked Kariuki to give her his phone so that she can confirm the message, but she deleted the message and started telling Kariuki he wanted to steal from her.
She then raised alarm that almost burn Kariuki. "I withdrew the money using agent number 37427, i got the message she deleted the message from my phone and denied the cash," said Kariuki
