A machete-wielding gang on Friday morning raided a residential place in Kwa Rhonda slums Nakuru and defiled a lady before making away with goods of unknown value.

According to Grace Mwangi who was awoken by sounds of a forceful entry through their gate,  two people allegedly scaled the gate at around 2 am and vandalised the padlocks before breaking into houses and ransacking them. She added that they went to the last house in the plot which was unoccupied and took away a gas cylinder before proceeding to a house adjacent to the gate where they broke in and allegedly committed the defilement.

"They scaled the gate and got in before destroying the padlocks. After gaining access, they went to the house at the far end and took away a gas cylinder since the owner wasn’t around before proceeding to the first house where they pulled out the two female occupants and raped one while beating up the other using a machete,” she recounted.

She added that she screamed and that is when neighbours responded and the gang fled. The gang also made away with a motorcycle and money among other valuables. The motorbike owner who only identified himself as Mash stated that he was awakened by screams of help and that is when it dawned on him that he had parked his motorbike outside the house.

He added that it was not the first time the plot had been raided saying that the robbers had made it a habit to invade them and steal their properties.
