Uasin Gishu sub county director of Education Moses Bosire has urged principals and head teachers to forward all land documents to the National Lands Commission for scrutiny, for them to be checked if they are genuine or not.

Addressing primary and secondary principals in Eldoret on Saturday, Bosire disclosed that it would help the commission to update information and secure lands from grabbers, by issuing them with title deeds.

“Time has come for all school managers; that is principals and headmasters, to forward these vital land documents that will hasten the process of the schools having title deeds since there have been many cases of school lands being grabbed,” he said.

He further added that the recent research carried by his ministry has revealed that more that fifty percent of schools in Uasin Gishu have no title deeds, making it easier for one to grab their lands.

He put on notice teachers who do not attend lessons that their days are numbered, and urged parents to report such teachers and promised to take stern action against them.
