Kenyan based engineering company has promised to make more ferries as it unveils its first ever ferry which is set to to ply its business in the neighboring country, Uganda.

The 250-passenger carrier with also a capacity of putting on-board up to fifteen vehicles, was officially launched on Wednesday by the Secco company which has its headquarters in Likon ferry Channel in Mombasa.

Addressing journalists during the launch of the vessel, the company’s Chief Executive Officer Cohen Omri disclosed their mega plans to ensure that there are more Kenyan products out there for other consumers to have interest for and promised to go deep and make more advanced machines as a way of promoting the engineering sector within Kenya and to the global market. 

Mr Omri commended the efforts made by his employees whom he categorically described as hardworking.

He further urged the Kenyan youth to exploit their potential and said the world of today is in need of experts in the electrical related field and the engineering as a career in general.

"I would like to urge the youth to better their potential for the good of this country, economically," he said.

The vessel will be used to ferry people in Lake Albert which one of the largest lakes in Uganda, and this is the first machinery related transaction from the Kenyan based company involving the Ugandan government other than the existing commercial linkage between the two neighboring states, majorly the transit cargo from the Mombasa port to Uganda.
