Nominated Senator Martha Wangari has asked Cord to stop undermining the Jubilee government and give it time to serve Kenyans.
Her remarks come at a time when the opposition has accused the Jubilee administration of failing to address the challenges facing Kenyans.
Cord luminaries have accused the Jubilee government of putting the country into a financial crisis by spending more than it can afford, and its failure to address corruption.
Wangari said Cord should instead work with Jubilee administration to solve the challenges facing Kenyans.
“The opposition should join hands with the Jubilee administration and steer the nation forward instead of accusing it,” said Wangari.
Speaking in Gilgil town on Thursday after meeting Gilgil residents, Wangari said Kenya’s economy is performing well.
“The truth is that our economy is performing well and this shows Jubilee’s commitment,” the Senator said.
She expressed optimism about the measures President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government has undertaken in ensuring good governance and efficient service delivery.
“The Jubilee government has initiated several reforms to improve the economy and Cord should support them instead of accusing it,” added Wangari.
