Shoe shiners in Kisii town have urged the county government to make them sheds as one way of keeping them from the hot sun.
The plea comes after the recent visit and inspection of projects in the Central Business District of Kisii town by Governor James Ongwae where he promised that his government will initiate projects to help businesses and the transport sector.
Now, the shoe shiners want sheds to keep them from the hot sun which they said was affecting their businesses.
Speaking on Monday at Kobil Shoe Shinning Centre, Joshua Mogere said clients shun their place because it is not business friendly.
“This is our daily business as I am proud of it, I urge our county government to help us to continue with our businesses,” added Omuya Nyakiang’a.
They praised the governor’s plan to install water storage tanks saying the project will benefit them as they need the commodity to provide services.
Last week, Governor Ongwae while on a tour of the town, pledged to improve sanitation and water supply in the town.
