Two people who were arrested on Wednesday with connection to stealing a pair of vehicle tyres were on Thursday arraigned before a Maseno Resident Magistrate Court to answer the charges.
Paul Koech and Hudson Omulo, however, denied the charges before Maseno Resident Magistrate Philip Oilo for the offence they are alleged to have committed on Wednesday this week in Maseno town.
According to the prosecution desk, the two stole the pair of tyres belonging to Purity Akinyi while she was in the process of replacing tyres of her vehicle after they had a puncture.
It is alleged that the two posed as mechanics when they came across Akinyi who was stranded in Maseno town. They are alleged to have helped in changing the tyres.
However, the prosecution desk claimed that while they were finalising the change, Omulo secretly went to the boot and made away with a pair of tyres.
Koech claimed to know nothing about it. This prompted Akinyi to report the matter at the Maseno Police Station, where successful investigation led to the arrest of the two and recovery of the tyres.
The two accused were released on a cash bail of Sh5,000 pending the hearing on August 27, 2015.
