Maseno University Christian Union students on Wednesday afternoon conducted a crusade of a kind by choosing hostels as the venue.
The crusade that was held at the New Sunrises grounds attracted a huge number of students who came to receive spiritual nourishment. New Sunrise Hostels are the largest in Maseno and they house more than two thousands students.
According to the organiser Maurice Lalano, they considered a number of factors before choosing the venue.
“On Sunday’s we usually have our church services and students are known to be busy and maybe they don’t get a chance to attend services, so it was ideal to bring the crusade here so that everybody can have a chance to receive spiritual nourishment,” said Lalano.
The students were preached on various issues, with the fourth years being the major targets. They were urged to uphold good morals.
The crusade was attended by both students and the local community members and those in attendance were full of praise for the organisers.
“On Sundays I am always doing my part time, and even though I usually wish to attend church I'm always unable, therefore bringing the crusade here is a nice thing,” said Mwaniki Okal, a student at the institution.
Those in attendance urged the organisers to be conducting such crusades occasionally saying they help people attain spiritual maturity.
