Suneka Sub county bodaboda operators have been urged to be vigilant to avoid being robbed or attacked by unknown gangs in the area.

According to Suneka Boda boda operators Chairperson Samson Moturi, the area has recorded a number of cases of operators who have been attacked and robbed of their motorbikes, with others left nursing serious injuries.

Moturi added that they are calling for the area police boss to make sure security is beefed up, so that they can carry out their business safely.

“We have seen our fellow colleagues get attacked by unknown gangs in the area and we have not seen any efforts by the security personnel to ensure the situation is controlled,” said Moturi.

This comes after two boda boda operators were attacked over the weekend and robbed of their motorcycles at Nyambunwa area in Suneka Sub County, Kisii County.

They are now calling on the area police boss, who could not be reached when contacted, to ensure strict measures are put in place, and security improved to secure their safety.
