Bodaboda operators in Tala Town, Matungulu Sub-County have been warned against operating at night following increased crime in the area.
Speaking in his office, Tala OSC James Njiiri said insecurity in the area was on the rise with bodaboda operators being the main targets.
Njiiri expressed concerns over the high number of bodaboda operators being mugged in the area.
"We have received several reports of bodaboda operators being robbed of their motorbikes. I would wish to urge bodaboda operators to stop operating at night, though a lot of them have remained adamant even after the ban,” said Njiiri.
This comes after a bodaboda operator was hit with a blunt object and his motorbike stolen by a thief pretending to be a customer.
The OCS said whoever will be found operating at night will be prosecuted.
