Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a has called on the women, youths and people living with disabilities to ensure they use the funds she disbursed appropriately to build their future.
Speaking in Thika Town on Wednesday when she disbursed funds to over 100 youth and women groups, Ng’ang’a said that she received information that some people are misusing the funds forgetting that they will be required to repay the funds and in good time.
She called on Thika residents to make proper use of the money as it is meant to improve their living standards.
She cautioned the residents against using the money on fun activities and urged them to invest the money wisely.
The lawmaker said that her office has been involving the beneficiaries in a series of trainings before they take the money home and she is shocked to see that most of them do not use the knowledge learnt from the trainings in doing something constructive.
“I am going to block some people from benefiting as we do not have time to look for you if you fail to repay the loans thus we will blacklist you. Kindly use the cash for your own benefit by investing in business ventures and not drugs and fun,” said Ng'ang'a.
