Police in Thika on Sunday retrieved the body of unknown man who was murdered in Kimuchu area near a quarry.

According to Makongeni OCS Mr Samuel Khisa, police were notified of the body by the former community policing chairman Mr Paul Njomo. He said Njomo called them after he noticed that the body had been there for several hours as the residents just watched.

Khisa said that the body had cuts on the neck and forehead and the clothes stained with blood - a clear indication that he had been murdered. The area was also covered with blood. Police said that he was murdered at the spot.

Khisa said they are yet to identify the deceased as he had no identification documents on him. He called on members of public to report any disappearance of a friend or relative to the nearest police station.

The body of the deceased was taken to General Kago Mortuary in Thika town waiting to be claimed as the police investigate the murder.
