Three people are nursing injuries at the Thika level five hospital after they were involved in an accident.
The accident that happened on Monday evening at around 7:00pm in Pilot estate along Thika-Makongeni road involved a boda boda operator and a saloon car.
According an eye witness, Derrick Mutua, who is also a PSV driver along the road, the motorcycle was speeding past the road which is currently under rehabilitation and the saloon car which was speeding also from Makongeni emerged and hit it.
He said the the saloon car driver escaped unhurt after people started gathering at the scene and left his passengers severely injured in the vehicle that veered off a nearby road block.
Thika traffic police base commander, Apelles Chacha said that the two forced their way trough the road part that is under construction despite the contractor closing the part.
She added that they will prosecute them immediately they recover adding that the police have intensified the search for the driver who disappeared.
She called on motorists in the area to take caution while driving on the roads as they should be careful and avoid accidents at all costs.
The officer has alleged that the saloon car smelled alcohol- a clear indication that the driver might have been driving under the influence of alcohol.
