Three students from Stephjoy Boys High School have been released on bond following a High Court directive on Monday.
The three have been in police custody pending investigations into the arson attack at the school which left two students dead.
High Court Judge Nicholas Ombija ruled that the students be released on bail while police continue with investigations.
The High Court, on August 10, ordered the three boys detained for 10 days not to tamper with witnesses but they have been in the cells for 21 days.
The three students were among 11 that had been detained. Eight others were later released for lack of evidence. The three have been at Tigoni Children’s Unit.
The school was closed indefinitely following the chaos and its expected to open after renovations.
Kiambu County government officials who visited the school after the fire said the institution is like a prison.
