Two men were charged before a Nakuru Court on Thursday for theft in a retail outlet in Njoro.

Henry Mwangi and Thomas Magare were accused of breaking into a supermarket and stealing several items including a one blender, a Flat Screen TV Sh400,000 in cash at the property of Samuel Karanja on September 4 in Njoro Sub-County.

The two also faced an alternative charge of handling stolen property after they were found in possession of the items on September 9 in Njoro.

They were alleged to have been found with a motorcycle, which is believed to have been used to transport the items during the night of break-in.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Joel Ng'eno, they pleaded not guilty and were released on a cash bail of Sh40,000.

The case will be heard on October 21.
